Zach Donohue knows he has one of the toughest partners in the sport. After Piper Gilles' lower body injury forced the team out of the 2008 Junior Grand Prix Final, she fought through the pain to help Donohue claim his first national medal, a bronze in junior ice dance at the 2009 U.S. Championships. The team started their career together by winning Junior Grand Prix Czech Republic and finishing second in South Africa. Gilles has an older brother Todd, an ice dancer, and twin sister Alexe, a singles champion. ››

Standing at 5 foot 7 without her skates, Alexe Gilles is one of the tallest female competitive figure skaters in the world. But her height has only helped her become the rising star that she is today. Her accomplishments include winning the silver medal at Junior Grand Prix Mexico, gold in South Africa and bronze at the Final. Gilles, who has an older brother and twin sister who compete internationally in ice dance, finished ninth in her senior debut at the 2009 U.S. Championships. Her eyes are set on medaling in 2010. ››

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs students Jane Summersett and Todd Gilles were born to be entertainers. Luckily for figure skating fans, the quirky personalities choose the ice as their stage. The two came together in 2007 after ending their previous partnerships. In their international debut, Summersett and Gilles finished sixth at the Golden Spin of Zagreb then went on to place third at 2008 Nebelhorn Trophy and seventh at Skate America. They placed sixth at the 2008 and 2009 U.S. Championships. ››
